		<description>My district actually told students they could &quot;opt out&quot; and have the entire day off without penalty if parents were concerned about the speech.  Can you believe it?  An entire school day!</description>

		<description>I&#039;m laughing out loud about the concerns about the president speaking to the kiddies, after all, don&#039;t parents still possess the ability to override the biases and innacurracies that they&#039;re taught in schools as they&#039;ve always had?  Overall, it sounded like it was a good speech, as usual for Obama.  One thing that I&#039;m curious about, however, is whether the social studies really are all about eliminating homelessness and poverty or is there another/better reason for studying that subject matter?</description>
